I have an HP EliteBook 8530w running XP SP3. I installed libusb-win32 and it worked fine. Later I installed iTunes then found when I ran the libusb test program I got a BSOD. I also found when I shutdown I got a BSOD just before power off and the laptop would reboot.

I tried uninstalling iTunes but the libusb test program still gives a BSOD. I had to remove libusb as well before this problem disappeared.

I can see this happening with the install of the ipod & iphone drivers that affect the usb hub without those devices attached. It would be better to install Itunes first followed by lib usb after those usb changes have been made. I cannot verify this issue with the current version of itunes in xp as i don't have xp installed. but if needed i can check.

Are you using the filter driver? If yes, uninstall it and you should be fine.

Could you try revision 163 of the repository or later? This may have been fixed.

Set to pending as this should be fixed.
