Ok here's the news...
I updated the website to remove the frames and implement CSS. All of the pages have been redone and while nothing may look any different... well that's kind of the point.
On other news; thuhfreak has started to make a pure c version of the game engine (libscorpion). This will be seperate until he is done and then the original libspider code will be transformed into a shell to use the pure c code. So users of the libspider code should not have to change any existing code. This has just started and I will keep everyone up to date on the progress.... read more
This new version should be out in about 2 weeks. The version 0.1.1 has been canceled because major work needs to be done to the basic 3d classes. These classes need to be rewritten due to copyright issues.
The original classes were downloaded off of a website a while back and they are not GPL. So instead of trying to figure out the legal issues involved to make sure that nothing goes wrong; we have just decided to write these classes again on our own. ... read more
This new version of libSpider is projected to be released some time next week. Look out for more documentation and commenting and a general code cleanup. There were also some bug fixes and tweaks that were done a while back and the code deserves to have a new sub version.
So everyone watch out for that, won't be much but at least it's something.

Alrighty, here's the deal...
The code looks pretty bad; I admit that some of it is my fault and some is the OTHER programmers. There are lots of commented out sections, none of the methods are documented/commented and the variables are all using different standards.
So this is what I am going to do, I plan to spend about a week on it to clean it all up. I also plan to tweak some sections and maybe add some new features. (Who knows at this point) So I will probably start that either tonight or tommarrow. ... read more
Hey,
My project for my game has been approved. The project will definitely be using libSpider and it is currently in the planning stages. The project's name is Relastra and so the website's address is http://relastra.sf.net. I will be doing work this weekend on the webpage to get it up and running but for now it's still under construction.

Hey everyone,
I decided a week ago to restart my game idea. I am actually going to make it this time instead of using it as something to fill my free time with. It's currently in the planning stages and it will most definitely use libSpider. I'll keep everybody posted as to the progress and eventually when I get it far enough I will make a project for it.
Peace out
Ok, now that break is over some more updates can be done. (The internet at home is too slow to do anything)
Over break we found out that Thuhfreak might not be coming back. He will stay with the project but not be contributing as much. Anyone that is interested in becoming an admin should email me and it will be discussed.
Some additions have been made to the tutorial section of the website. Check them out. I added a tutorial about the console system so the next one in line is the texture stuff or the models. I might reorganize then, depends on what i think is more important to be first.
ThuhFreak and I have been working on some simple games that we can release with Spider. They will be in seperate modules of the repository and we will release them as we finish them. These can be used as tutorials and examples of everything Spider can do. More info on this as it comes up.
While making a game and playing around with the mouse system; I found out that there was a bug in the code. Just a little misunderstanding about glut mouse funcs i guess, but it's fixed and commtted.
I released a version of libSpider for win32 with the use of MVS7. It has the .lib file, the headers, the man pages and instructions about how to install it. Hope that helps some people.
The project website is underway. It's still a WIP but some of the basics are done. The tutorial is almost done and i'm working on making everything look better.
The code is being cleaned up and fixed right now, the first official release should be up tommarrow some time. Once the make files and scripts are working.
