[Libmesh-users] Shape function and derivatives at nodes?

[Libmesh-users] Shape function and derivatives at nodes? From: Andrew E Slaughter - 2012-06-29 14:27:32 Is it possible to get the values of the shape functions (i.e., get_phi() and get_dphi()) at the nodes instead of the quadrature points? I need to compute a stabilization parameter that requires these values. Thanks, Andrew -- Andrew E. Slaughter, PhD andrew.e.slaughter@... Re: [Libmesh-users] Shape function and derivatives at nodes? From: Kirk, Benjamin (JSC-EG311) - 2012-06-29 15:06:18 One trick is to use a newton-cotes quadrature rule (like QTrap or QSimpson) that puts the quadrature points at the nodes. -Ben On Jun 29, 2012, at 9:27 AM, "Andrew E Slaughter" wrote: > Is it possible to get the values of the shape functions (i.e., get_phi() > and get_dphi()) at the nodes instead of the quadrature points? From: Kirk, Benjamin (JSC-EG311) - 2012-06-29 15:19:31 ...and another trick is to pass an optional argument to reinit which is a vector containing the points where you want the data evaluated.
