You had me scared there for a minute, becasue file format
incompatibility in parallel is extremely difficult to debug.

But the new feature addition in r4224 wasn't a file format bug, it
was "just" a completely-ruins-project_vector bug for many FE types.
We've reverted that change in the svn head (as of r4239) until we can
figure out a way to support the same feature without breaking
anything.
