I just captured multiple frames via coriander's video1394 interface
through a Unibrain Fire-i 1.2 camera (donated by
turnkey-solutions.com.au and street-vision.com just for this purpose).
This was under a 2.4.21-pre4 kernel. It means two things:
1) The conversion to the dma routines was a success. No more portability
problems, and no more 800meg memory limit for i386 users.
2) The new ioctl interface works. I just converted libdc1394 and
recompiled it. Coriander worked after that. So anything using
libdc1394 will be easy to fix (the ABI/API between dc1394 and apps
does not change with the new video1394 ioctl's).
I am going to commit all this to the linux-2.4 branch and post a patch
for libdc1394 to use the new API.
