LGeneral 1.2beta-7 Available

And here we go one more time! Beside a few minor enhancements, this release brings a bunch of lovely bug fixes: saving games works properly again, nasty AI crash fixed, more evenly distributed random numbers, jets do actually sound like jets, CPU vs CPU works again, allied engineers ignore entrenchment like the german ones and the converter now runs on big-endian machines (thanks to Juha Niemimaki). LGeneral 1.2beta-6 Released

Leo Savernik has joined ranks of project LGeneral and thanks to his knowledge we now use CVS actively. This release brings many improvements on gameplay (e.g., better entrenchment rules for merges and combats, defensive fire rules like in PG [only one artillery supports and only an adjacent unit] and many other rule adjustments to tweak gameplay) and handling (edit improved, command line options, command-line driven reinforcements editor, etc.). See the Changelog at https://sourceforge.net/project/shownotes.php?release_id=216836 for full detail. [end]

LGeneral 1.2beta-5 Is Out

Leo Savernik has been quite productive again: He added a feature from Allied General that helps a lot keeping your aircrafts alive: hex tiles that are too far away to return to an allied airfield again (before fuel runs out) are marked red (Note: This requires re-running the converter lgc-pg.). In bad weather fuel cost is now only doubled for ground/naval units and there are reinforcements for Norway.... read more

LGeneral 1.2beta-4 Released

This release features minor gameplay enhancements: Aircrafts close to an airfield are automatically supplied at the beginning of a turn. If the mouse is on a hex tile within the moving range of the selected unit show the distance to the unit. The message time has been increased to 1.5 secs. [end]

LGeneral 1.2beta-3 Released

Wow, this is news! One and a half year later there is finally a new release for LGeneral. I am quite surprised by this myself, really. I sometimes received smaller patches and suggestions but merely incorporated them (shame on me, yes). Sorry to those folks but I have faced a severe lack of time and motivation, so I never made a release. :-/

But then Leo Savernik submitted a HUGE patch fixing and enhancing more things than could be listed here. Enough to let me do another release, actually. See the Changelog at http://sourceforge.net/project/shownotes.php?release_id=216836 for the most prominent changes. Some highlights are:
- Reinforcements for Warsaw, Low Countries, France, Barbarossa and Ardennes
- Suppression and casualties of a fight are displayed
- Fuel costs shown in advance allow for better movement planning
- A strategy guide has been included
- A lot of gameplay tweaking and some AI seg fault fixes [end]... read more

LShuffle Works!

Thanks to Nathan Bullock this odd parity problem is gone. The random initial permutation of the squares is now always even, so the puzzle will always resolve. If it does not tell Sam Lloyd. ;-) [end]

New Stuff

It's been a while but now I had some time to clean up up the web site a bit and to upload new levelsets for LBreakout 2: KungFu by Sebastian Haas, Zooligan by Tim Wesson and JediAdventure and Patience by G who also sent updates of his previous sets AllNighter, P.I.T.A., and TheEnd.

I hope to be able to maintain this site more constantly again. [end]
