The current audittrail table logs the time of insert and update, the user entity making the update, and sometimes the invoice number of the update -- or another timestamp. And that's all.
This is pretty much useless.
There are columns for the table name and the form name making the change, but these columns don't actually contain any data.
Also, GL transactions do not appear to get logged -- only AP/AR.
At a minimum, the table needs to appear in the log. Much more useful would be the data changed, the function called to change the data, the web URL/form name -- and it also seems to me that we should make sure general SQL updates trigger this correctly, so that direct SQL statements are logged in a way that's clear the application was bypassed.
