From Scott Scriven:

Hi.

Just grabbed LCDproc 0.4.3 to test its cfontz driver. It
doesn't seem to work at all. I've got a KD204-634 V1.2
9600baud.

What happens is this: LCD turns on. Backlight turns
on. It
boots up. Then as soon as LCDd starts sending it data, it
displays completely random characters.

I tried changing various options, both in LCDd.conf and
in the
source code. But nothing seemed to have any effect. I
also
compared the driver source against the source for
0.4-pre9, and
didn't find anything which looked like it would cause this.

Oh well. I'm going back to 0.4-pre9 (again) until the
driver
works.

    Gah. Replying to myself.

Anyway, I think I may go through previous releases and
revisions to see where exactly the CFontz driver broke.
Since no one else seems to actually have one to test with.

But it could take a while. I'm lazy.

That is exactly the display I have (full model number, as
    printed on the
back of the display: SKD204-634SG-LG, Firmware V1.2,
    9600baud), and mine
works with the notes exceptions. (It is running on
    /dev/ttyS2 with
interrupts enabled, the machin is a Celeron 466 running
    linux 2.2.20).
I've been running lcdproc 0.4.3 (from CVS, updated from time
    to time,
last about 2 weeks ago) with out major problems until I tried
big_cloc[k] two days ago. (I used to run G M T and netlcd).

Sorry for not triing big_cloc[k] any earlier :-(

(Check the mailing list for details) Waiting for Scott to
confirm all connections and validate v0.4.3 installation &
configuration -- others using the same display confirm it is
functional with v0.4.3, so something "funky" is afoot.

    Reassigning to Scott.

Scott reports this has been fixed. Closing.
