Laxkit 0.0.6 released!

The sixth release, so to speak!

It's been over 2 years since the last release, and all I have to show for it are mostly cosmetic changes and bug fixes. I thought I might as well have a so-called release before embarking on an overhaul of Laxkit to abstract it more, making it easier to port, and also making it easier for laxkit elements to communicate with each other.

-Window icon support
-Recently used support, based on freedesktop's Recently File spec.
-A little support for quickly finding freedesktop thumbnail files, but work still needs to be done to implement the required insertion of metadata when creating thumbnails.
-SomeData now has a preview field, to cache what the data actually looks like for complicated data. Speeds up screen rendering slightly.... read more

Laxkit 0.0.5 Released.

This is the fifth release of the Laxkit, a C++ X gui toolkit being made with an eye toward making art programs. Aside from a whole pile of usability enhancements and conversion to utf8 internal text handling in all the widgets, not much new! The single greatest improvement is probably how the GradientInterface works now. You can see a video tutorial of it off the Laidout website here:

Laxkit 0.0.4 Released

This is the fourth release of the Laxkit, a C++ X gui toolkit being made with an eye toward making art programs. The main differences from 0.0.3 are a large number of general fixes, and smoother integration of images.

Laxkit 0.0.3 Released

This is the third release of the Laxkit, a C++ X gui toolkit being made with an eye toward making art programs.

The biggest change in this release is the introduction of Image Patch objects that allow manipulation of images on screen using two dimensional cubic bezier patches.

Laxkit 0.0.2 Released

This release coincides with the release of Laidout version 0.02. It implements linear, radial, and color patch gradients much better than the previous version. Also includes a lot of code cleanup and even more documentation.

Laxkit 0.0.1 Released

The Laxkit is a new X window gui toolkit specifically designed to help make art related software. This is the very first release.

The kit includes interfaces for continuous lines composed of different types of segments, bezier color patch gradients, and more.
