I'm a DJ who uses Sony ACID 4.0 Pro to make some
really long projects spanning into the 4-8 hour range.
Due to filesize limitations on a 16-bit .WAV file (2GB), it's
often not possible to use LAME 3.96 to encode these
projects and I have to "live with" the Sony MP3
encoder.
There is a Wave64 (PCM Uncompressed) option that can
be used to fix the filesize limitation and allows for
filesizes many gigabytes larger (was it 2TB in size
max/NTFS maximum limit?). Would it be easy enough to
create an input method that can interpret the Wave64
file so I could use LAME 3.96 to encode it?

Right, it does not support WAVE64.

    But LAME4.x supports libsndfile1.x, which supports WAVE64.
    So LAME4 will support WAVE64.

    Excellent.
