I recorded some music using krecord (you can find it on apps.kde.com), they were 44100 Hz, 16 bits
and stereo wave files (verified) but when loading them in kwave, I have two channels but the second
one is empty (when I listen to the files in kwave I only have sound from the left speaker) and files
saved from this also have a sound-free right channel (I mean it is stereo but the right channel is
zero).
It is very reproductible, I edited 3 files before seeing the problem.

please try going to the Options/Memory menu and increase the
    amount of memory.

You can verify if it is an out-of-memory problem by starting
Kwave from a terminal window and looking at the debug output.
