Well, I asked for "permission" because I didn't want to redo work that would probably already being done. I wanted to know if there's anyone already working on that -- and there is.

I'll try to contact that Julian Baume to see how he is going.

There is no such thing as permission in open source. Do anything you like.

Only problem is that I've found that KDE4 is probably the worst
regression in the history of computing. =( It took a fast, efficient,
user friendly, miracle of modern software design and turned it into an
unusable, bloated, pile of turd. =(
