On page section 2.3 - Microcontroller, page 15 of Ktechlab.pdf there's a reference made to "upload the required program to the Pic". Unfortunately, there's no clue as to where to find the program. Anyone know?

in this case "the required program" means "the program you would like to run on the Pic".  Such programs can be written by you if you like, or you could use flowcode to create a program, or you can find some example programs for Pics on the Internet.
