would be nice to be able to provide the filename to
be opened as command line parameter.
(besides comfort, it is a problem using the kde open
dialog when opening a directory mounted from an nfs
server with many files in it. kde open dialoge ist very
slow in this case....).

This is a good idea and seems to be something previously
thought about in the code. I'll have a look at it and let
    you know.

This has now been implemented in CVS. New command line is

    kprof -f file -p <gprof, fnncheck, pose>

where -f and -p are optional but must come together if they
exist. The file is the path to the executable. I don't have
any remotely mounted disks so would be interested to know if
it works under nfs to fix your problems.

    Hi Colin,

    Thank you for implementing this!
I tried to compile the new cvs version, but kproffile.h is
missing - so I can not compile kprof. Please check in the
    missing files.

(I'm wondering why -p is needed if I give the name of the
executable to kprof because I do not need to if I open the
    file using the open dialoge...)
