One of the many nice things KPlayer has over its competitor KMPlayer is a decent context menu for the video display widget - unfortunately it's a bit awkward to use because the mouse pointer is immediately hidden when entering the video area while a video is playing. IMHO it'd make good sense to delay hiding the cursor after a second or to, as it actually tends to be fairly customary among video players.

(To clarify: It should probably tied to the timeout of a timer that is reset on mouse move events, i.e. hidden after a second or two of pointer inactivity.)

There already is a bug about this, and I fully agree with your reasoning. I will fix this for 0.6.3.

Hm, related to that, could you tell me what's your master copy of the codebase at the moment? I'm a KDE developer, so I could commit to trunk/extragear/multimedia/kplayer - but by the looks of it you seem to be using SourceForge CVS and then sync to svn.kde.org for releases?

(Argh - last comment should have gone into #1721451 - lack of caffeine, the coffee maker is broken :-)

Doesn't matter, this could also be a fun project for a beginner, could even be easier than the other one. If you know of other people who could be interested in doing some simple enhancements, I could find or come up with a few more of these.

The master copy is here at sf.net, the kde.org one is primarily for translation purposes. This is so anyone willing to contribute would have to send me a patch for review and not just commit whatever they feel like. :)

As for coffee makers, you can't make good coffee in them!
