Would be nice to have a command on the Edit menu (and corresponding keyboard shortcut) that removes the enclosing tag -- just the tag, not its contents.

For example, if the cursor is inside bold text then the command would remove the [B] tag, and if the cursor is inside a [SPAN] then the [SPAN] tag would be removed -- leaving its contents. Similarly for other container tags. If something is selected then the command would remove the container that the selection is in.

Of course, the command would only be available if removing the container tag would still result in valid HTML. For example, the command would be disabled if the cursor is in a table cell and the current container is the cell's <td>.

I have seen this command in at least one other editor and it comes in very handy.
