kiwi-ltsp don't work with nfs properly. thin client needs to write into nfs share. In /etc/exports is "ro" option set. Ok, I set "rw". Now, thin client deletes files .kconfig and .profile during loading. Without this files clients can't boot anymore. I did "chattr +i .kconfig" and "chattr +i .profile", but it's just a workaround.

"chattr +i .kconfig" and "chattr +i .profile" don't work. Workaround is cleaning up of the directory "/srv/kiwi-ltsp-nfs-i386/var/run". But it does usage more than one client at the same time impossible :(

NFSROOT is supported for testing purpose only for production use AOE or NBD.

I can say that NFSROOT is completely unusable. NBD or AOE don't suit me because they need minimum 128 mb of memory. With NFS I can use thin clients with 64 mb of memory. So, how can I get NFSROOT works?

Take a look at /usr/share/doc/packages/kiwi/kiwi.pdf for kiwi documentation and configure/create image accordingly. NFSROOT needs aufs module which is not there in 11.3/above.

Another thing you can do is hack /srv/kiwi-ltsp-nfs/etc/init.d/ltsp-client.init to use bind mounts for the areas that require read-write access(/var and some other, see debian's init script for more, they use nfsroot)

Experimental NFSROOT with ro exports added to openSUSE 12.2 prebuilt boot images.
