In a boring day i decided the impossibile: i made up my mind to
install kile on my mac, using the kde4 frontend!
I read on the mailing list kile is more or less compilable with kde4
and since kde4 is now native on mac I tought i could wave x11 goodbye
so i tried to download the latest sources from svn and i already got an error!
svn co etc etc and the result is
svn: Failed to add file 'office/kile/kile/complete/tex/manyfoot.cwl':
object of the same name already exists
and if you go and remove that file it will just nag at the next file
ok that wasn't a big problem, i just download the svn from a linux box.
the make -f Makefile.cvs was ok, but at ./configure time i was puzzled
by the --enable-mac flag! what is this options for? no x11?
at any rate i run the following
--with-extra-libs=/opt/kde4/lib/ --prefix=/opt/kde4 --enable-mac
./configure --prefix=/opt/kde4 --enable-mac --with-qt-dir=/opt/qt4/
that long ldflag is need for leopard version of osX
the kde4 version i used are the snapshot of
http://www.racoonfink.com/ (qt4.3.3 and kde4.0, 20080115)
and the result is
checking for Qt... configure: error: Qt (>= Qt 3.2 and < 4.0) (library
qt-mt) not found. Please check your installation!
For more details about this problem, look at the end of config.log.
Make sure that you have compiled Qt with thread support!
< 4.0 ???
if i add
where qt3 is installed, configure ends ok (even if there's this odd
string "checking for Qt... libraries /opt/qt4/lib/, headers
/opt/fink/lib/qt3/include using -mt" )
but then the make fails
i didn't try to run this on linux so i don't know if this error
applies, but it seems weird enough to post it!
is there any solution? how can you compile kile with kde4?
thanks a lot!
