    Hi

I've got a fresh install of Kubuntu 11.04 with TexLive 2009-11 and Kile
    1:2.1.0.

The Symbols tap on the left displays all symbols. However, they appear to not
have a latex command associated with it. A hover with the mouse over the
    symbol shows:

    Command:

And clicking it enters an empty string (). Have I missed to install a package
    or something?

Typing all these commands and compiling the document works like a clam, so the
TexLive install seems to be fine.

I worked with Kile before and never had this problem.

Any suggestions would be kindly appreciated!

    Thanks

I have a same problem when I upgraded to 11.04

When I click the symbols on the left, nothing happens.

But when I click Latex on the left, it works well.

    I also need some suggestions.

    Thanks. -Hyun.

It seems to be a problem with the dependencies. Version 2.1 beta 5 works fine.

You can install it either with the tarball

    http://kile.sourceforge.net/download.php

or with the pre compiled debian packages (thanks to Philip Muskovac)

    32bit

    64bit

This should solve both the 'empty symbols' problem and the 'autocomplete'
which also didn't work with the beta 4.

    Have fun!
