In KeePass 1.X I am missing an option to disable tray icon. It would be awesome if there were such option.

Thank you very much for considering this feature request.

Sincerely
Martin Z.

Windows already can do this. Search for 'Notification Area Icons' in the system Control Panel. On this page you can specify for every tray icon whether to display the icon, display only its notifications or hide it.

Hi Dominik, thanks for your contribution.
I know that this can by done in Windows, but this is not an option when "Show all icon" is selected.
I created this ticket for a reason that currently there is no way, how could Keepass itself disable tray icon (from settings or config file).
In my opinon there should be such option, because there is no reason why this application should even have tray icon.

    Thanks for understanding

    Sincerely
    Martin

I've now added an option 'Show tray icon only if main window has been sent to tray' in 'Tools' -> 'Options' -> tab 'Advanced'.

Here's the latest development snapshot for testing:

By the way, you could also have upgraded to KeePass 2.x, which has this option since 2.00 Alpha.

    Best regards

Hello again, I found a little glitch in this feature:

I have associated .kdb files directly with KeePass app. When I open any .kdb file (doubleclicking on it), it will launch Keepass with prompt for password. While this promtp window is shown, tray icon appears again. Next when I enter password and confirm, tray icon disappears.
