Just moved to Keepass from SafeWallet. I've tried to find the answer to this question without success. Is there a way to be able to create a field on the main entry/viewing panel for an entry such that one can easily click on it (like USER NAME and PASSWORD) to get the data into the clipboard ? For example, my credit card includes a CVV code that I'd like to be able to grab for easy pasting. At the moment, it shows up at the bottom in the notes field and I have to manually highlight via mouse and copy it to the clip board to use.
Anything specific to help this newbie would be appreciated. Thanks!
KeePass has the ability to create custom string fields to contain additional important data. The user defines custom fields for an entry in Advanced tab of the Add/Edit Entry dialog. Once custom fields are defined one can access them quickly by right-clicking on the entry in the main KeePass View pane, and select 'Copy String' from the context menu.
The KPEnhancedEntryView plugin also provides a convenient structured display of an entry's custom fields in the KeePass Entry View pane. An entry's custom fields can be edited and copied easily with this plugin.
Thank you Wellread1! Yes, I see that if I do a left-click (I am left handed) on a entry to bring up the context sensitive menu, there is a 'COPY STRING' pulldown that lists all the fields available to copy to clipboard. Not quite as easy as simply showing them on a screen to click on like the USER NAME and PASSWORD, but infinitely better than mousing/highlighting/CTRL-C. It works for me. Thank you for taking the time to reply.
