Sorry if this is documented already but I've looked and couldn't see a solution.

In the window "Auto-Type Entry Selection", after pressing Ctrl+Alt+A, how can I ensure the listing in this window is sorted alphabetically by the Title?

For example, below could be the possible entries based on the focus window I'm targeting. The results would be ordered by title Z->A sorted.

    Group A
    PW 2014.3
    PW 2014.2
    PW 2014.1
    Group B
    PW 2014.3
    PW 2014.2
    PW 2014.1

I had the entries showing as I like originally, until I added a new entry. So my production example looks more like this currently after adding 2014.4 to the groups. Tried deleting the new entry and trying again, no change.

    Group A
    PW 2014.3
    PW 2014.2
    PW 2014.1
    PW 2014.4
    Group B
    PW 2014.3
    PW 2014.2
    PW 2014.1
    PW 2014.4

    Thanks for any help!

The display order of the "Auto-Type Entry Selection" dialog is determined by the un-sorted entry order in the database. To change the order:

    • Temporarily set the sort order in the KeePass window to un-sorted (View>Sort By>No Sort or click on the Title heading until the ascending/descending indicator is not displayed).
    • Right click on one of the entries that you want to change the order of and select 'Rearrange' from the context menu. Move as needed.
    • Restore the KeePass window to the preferred sort order.

In your example, you need to move 'PW 2014.4' until it appears before 'PW 2014.3' in the un-sorted KeePass window view.

I've got around 600 entries in my Keepass database. Is there no way to sort them automatically?

    For KeePass 2.x:

If you are referring to the main view then click on the column header that you want to sort by. There are three sort orders: ascending, descending & not sorted.

If you are referring to the Auto-Type Entry Selection dialog, then the only sort option is described above.
