Is there any good reason not to have Email as one of the standard columns? I currently either add it to notes or create a custom field called Email to fill in the email. It would be nice to have Email as a standard column since a lot of sites require it for login and not the username. And while I could just add the email to the username field, I would like to have them separated.

If the site requires email as the user name, put it in the user name field. Otherwise you have to change the Auto-Type to suit each entry.
