    Hello,

I'm planning to release KeePass 2.24 in about one week, and would be very happy about additional testing. A list of the most critical (from a testing point of view) features/improvements of 2.24 can be found below.

The latest development snapshot is here:
    http://keepass.info/filepool/KeePass_131027b.zip

    All feedback is welcome.

    Thanks and best regards,
    Dominik

    • Password quality estimations are now computed in separate
threads to improve the UI responsiveness
    • The password generator profile 'Automatically generated
passwords for new entries' is now available in the password
generator context menu of the entry editing dialog
    • Profiles are now shown directly in the password generator
context menu of the entry editing dialog
    • KeePass now terminates CtfMon child processes started by
.NET/Windows, if they are not terminated automatically
    • Added workarounds for '#', '{', '}', '[', ']', '~' and
      diaeresis .NET SendKeys issues
    • The 'Open From URL' dialog is now brought to the foreground
when trying to perform global auto-type while the database is
locked and the main window is minimized to tray
    • Empty fields are not included in detailed printouts anymore
    • Enhanced Internet Explorer detection

While you are working on the Password Generator would you be amenable to adding an option to suppress the built-in profiles from the entry's password creation profile list? If you don't want to include the option in the UI, a means to accomplish this via a direct edit of keepass.config.xml would also work.

In the meantime I have installed your latest snapshot. Thanks for this excellent product.

Thanks for adding the UIFlag. I also like the improved menu (saves a mouse click which is always good).

    A couple of style nit-picks:

I don't see the need of parentheses on the text descriptions of the two standard generate password menu items.

The wording of the "Automatically generated passwords for new entries" item seems inappropriate in the context of generating a single password for an entry that is not necessarily new. Since the generator profile might more commonly be referred to as the "Default password generation profile" it might be clearer to change:

"Automatically generated passwords for new entries" to
"Derive from default password generation profile" or
"Derive from default password profile" or
"Generate from default password profile" or
    "Default password profile" or
    "Default"

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll consider them for KeePass 2.25 (for 2.24 it's too late, because translators are already working on updating the translations).

    Best regards,
    Dominik

Excellent job Dominik! Thanks a lot!

It is possible that we host the source code onto GitHub/BitBucket so that our community can contribute our code (of course all changes have to be reviewed and approved)

I am thinking of add some features, like adding the field of "tags" for the generic CSV importer.

    What do you think?

Dominik won't hold the source code in an online repository as he finds it easier to manage locally. There is a 3rd party repository listed at the end of this discussion: https://sourceforge.net/p/keepass/discussion/329220/thread/02383c83/?page=1

New code can be posted in the Discussion forums.

    cheers, Paul

Most notable change: improved synchronization performance.

@Xiang Alex Li: Patches can also be posted in the 'Patches' tracker.

    Thanks and best regards,
    Dominik

Support for importing tags in the generic CSV importer is a nice idea by the way; I've implemented this.

A question: does it import the roboform identities too?

The import module 'RoboForm HTML (Logins/PassCards)' supports importing RoboForm HTML files containing logins/passcards, not identities.
