My problem is that whenever I start KeePass from a terminal window nothing happens, it just sits there and no new windows, errors, or alerts appear. I have tried mono --runtime=v2.0 KeePass.exe which defaults to v2.0.50727 and v4.0, which produces no errors, yet both still fail to make any difference.

If I issue the -v switch (mono -v KeePass.exe) then I can see that it is doing something, but stops at the following line:
    Method System.Xml.NameTable/Entry:.ctor (string,int,System.Xml.NameTable/Entry) emitted at 0xb42271e0 to 0xb4227208 (code length 40) [KeePass.exe]
    converting method System.Xml.XmlNamespaceManager:InitData ()
    Method System.Xml.XmlNamespaceManager:InitData () emitted at 0xb4227208 to 0xb4227251 (code length 73) [KeePass.exe]

The operating system is the LXDE version of Fedora 19.

When you run from the command line, is the process still running? (i.e. ps ax | grep KeePass shows a KeePass process running) Or does it crash? If it is still running, run kill -QUIT <pid> where <pid> is the process id listed in the ps ax command earlier. This should produce a stack trace of where KeePass is getting hung up.
