I'm using Ubuntu 14.04 and the v. 2.25 of KeePass, included in the software center.
How can I update to v. 2.27? All I can find are Win versions.
Also, the favicon dowloader plugin keeps telling me that is the wrong version. How can I solve this, please?
Download the portable/zip version and unzip over the top of the existing files.
Do you mean this one:
Because this one is Windows. I can only run it using mono or wine. And the plugin I mentioned, https://sourceforge.net/projects/keepass-favicon/ doesn't work either.
Besides, the instalation made by the software center uses several diferent folders, not just one.
I guess what I'm looking for is an update made by Canonical, which they state clearly they don't do.
Thank you anyway. I'll keep using 2.25.
The Ubuntu package maintainer provides a PPA with the latest version. It usually takes a few days after the official release for the newest version to be released.
Also, the favicon plugin is now maintained on github.
Also, also, the official Ubuntu keepass2 package runs using mono, so it is no different than running the portable version using mono (except these patches which are mostly cosmetic).
To clarify, there is only a Windows version of KeePass. If you are using 2.25 you are using the Windows version.
KeePass has been ported / re-written for a number of other devices, but these have different names and version numbers.
thank you Paul and David, I think I got it now.
Sorry for the trouble but I'm a complete newbie with Linux.
