The manual diff tool is great, but I think it should have the following features, which would REALLY boost productivity:

  • Numbered alignment anchors - sometimes it gets really confusing when trying to match them up and you place several at a time.
  • Allow stacking of multiple anchors on same line (useful in 3 document diff where you need to align several things in B and C that don't exist in A)
  • Removal of anchors (same as artifact 2068679)
  • After placing anchor, center the screen on the last anchor placed. (Super annoying when it pops back to the first alignment).

It would be great if this function behaved the same way as it does in Total Commander, there you can select different lines in each window and then select compare from this position and it aligns at the selected lines. Once one tries this simple way of realignment, the way it's done in KDiff seems rather suboptimal. Of course, that would require to add support for multiple selections (which would be also useful for other features).

And +1 for the annoying jumping to first alignment, that's a complete showstopper for this feature right now.
