This one works for Logitech Pro 9000, it uses very same driver as that "Future Boy PC USB Webcam (Alcor Micro AU3820 chipset" - http://linux-uvc.berlios.de/ ffmpeg -f video4linux2 -s 640x480 -r 15 -i /dev/video0 -f m4v out.m4v FFmpeg version 0.5-svn+3:0.svn20090303-1ubuntu6+patch~ppa3, Copyright (c) 2000-2009 Fabrice Bellard, et al. configuration: --enable-gpl --enable-postproc --enable-swscale --enable-x11grab --extra-version=svn+3:0.svn20090303-1ubuntu6+patch~ppa3 --prefix=/usr --enable-avfilter --enable-avfilter-lavf --enable-libgsm --enable-libschroedinger --enable-libspeex --enable-libtheora --enable-libvorbis --enable-pthreads --disable-stripping --disable-vhook --enable-libxvid --enable-libmp3lame --enable-libfaac --enable-libx264 --enable-libdc1394 --enable-shared --disable-static libavutil 49.15. 0 / 49.15. 0 libavcodec 52.20. 0 / 52.20. 0 libavformat 52.31. 0 / 52.31. 0 libavdevice 52. 1. 0 / 52. 1. 0 libavfilter 0. 4. 0 / 0. 4. 0 libswscale 0. 7. 1 / 0. 7. 1 libpostproc 51. 2. 0 / 51. 2. 0 built on Jul 11 2009 13:10:42, gcc: 4.3.3 [video4linux2 @ 0x1606a60][3]Capabilities: 4000001 Input #0, video4linux2, from '/dev/video0': Duration: N/A, start: 1248725129.993544, bitrate: 73728 kb/s Stream #0.0: Video: rawvideo, yuyv422, 640x480, 73728 kb/s, 15 tbr, 1000k tbn, 15 tbc Output #0, m4v, to 'out.m4v': Stream #0.0: Video: mpeg4, yuv420p, 640x480, q=2-31, 200 kb/s, 90k tbn, 15 tbc Stream mapping: Stream #0.0 -> #0.0 Press [q] to stop encoding frame= 68 fps= 16 q=2.0 Lsize= 155kB time=4.53 bitrate= 279.8kbits/s video:155kB audio:0kB global headers:0kB muxing overhead 0.000000% Please use this version of ffmpeg: http://kdenlive.org/user-manual/downloading-and-installing-kdenlive/pre-compiled-packages/ubuntu-packages ----- I have brand new Canon HFS100 and I can do basic things with kdenlive. But I found that I needed very latest x264 from source to do all exports, pre-combiled packages from sunab ppa were not enough, maybe it is just me here... Dan and all other fine developers - is there something I can do as a kdenlive user? And thank you for this great application. I do use kino, too, for another firewire camcorder.
