I am suffering the same problem described here http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/message.php?msg_id=e9fb436d0707271654t3fb04c9er11815ab4886e8143%40mail.gmail.com

I have KCheckGmail 5.7.4, and in the release notes of 5.7.2 it said it was "probably" fixed. I'm afraid I have to deny it :-(. It happens on every single program closing. However, it started to happen after an update. I have OpenSuse 10.2 x86_64.

The error message says kcheckgmail caused signal 6 (SIGABRT). The backtrace is at the end of the message.

I also have another problem, the application keeps asking for confirmation for accepting the Gmail certificate. I have read here http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=460584 that the bug is at kdelib level, but I don't know the status of the bug right now.

Thank youin advance for your help!

    • Hi,

      sorry for the late response.

Wrt the crash, please refer to:
      http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1844361&group_id=116095&atid=673717
      and
      http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=477412

I follow up both. I haven't been able to reproduce the crash on my i686 box, and the last information provided by Cameron Dale (debian report) isn't very helpful as you may see (I'm on my way to let him know that :)

And wrt to the certificate problem I guess I'll have to prod some people so they can give their opinion (the other way around is asking google to use a valid certificate for every domain that is not the .com one).

So, wrt the crash please follow up to one of the reports, and make sure the kcheckgmail binary does have the debugging symbols so gdb provides more usuful information.

Btw, does it also happen when you manually close kcheckgmail?

Thanks for your answer, better late than ever. And it's not late anyways, the bug is still there :-)

I will follow the bug status in the threads you posted. Answering your question, the error message appears on every closing of the program, either manual or when shutting my computer down. I will try to build the binnary and provide better debugging info.

Thank you for your support :-)
