I'm new to this list, so apologies if I'm asking something which
has already been covered lately.
I'm trying to run a python application in a Java ME environment, and
I seem to have arrived at a bad time in the development in Jython or
something. Because while I think I have every detail sorted out
individually, things will just not come together with a single Jython
* With Jython 2.5.1, the application runs perfectly with virtually no
changes at all. It's the bee's knees, really. However, I can not
create a PythonInterpreter in the Java ME environment because of
dependencies on things (such as java.nio) which do not exist in ME
(which is basically Java 1.3).
* With Jython 2.2, I can create my PythonInterpreter just fine in
the ME environment. However, this Jython version seem to be lacking
functionality on the python side which the application needs. It
only got as far as optparse before coming to the first grinding
Is there some kind of roadmap for ME support in Jython? I could port
Jython 2.5.1 to ME myself of course, but it seems like a lot of work
to duplicate if there is already some work in this direction...
