We have an application written in Java and Jython. Is there a way to distribute it so that users just have a JRE as dependency? Is it possible perhaps to jar up the $py.class files and somehow invoke java -jar jython.jar on them? -- fxn |

Probably. I've had success with applets written in a combination of Jython and Java which require the JRE but do not require the end user to have Jython installed. Try writing a little hello world program and compile it like this: $ jythonc -J -g:none -c -j hello.jar hello.py You should get a jar file which can be run like this: $ java -jar hello.jar If you expand the jar file you'll find all sorts of interesting Jython stuff in there. Good luck. Xavier Noria wrote: > We have an application written in Java and Jython. Is there a way to > distribute it so that users just have a JRE as dependency?
