Hey Charlie, I finally found some time to dig into clamp. I love the general idea (inserting a generated Java interface or abstract Java class into the object's base classes at runtime). I'm still hoping that we can do the same thing with class decorators instead of a metaclass, but I want to help finish out what's there before exploring that option. So just in case you find some more time to work on it, I am currently working on (from your TODO list): Allow checked exceptions to be specified Set the name of the created interface/abstract class When I do get a patch together, how do you want to proceed? I'm a complete newbie to git... I copied jython-dev -- if anyone out there wants to have a look, clamp is the start of a jythonc replacement. See: http://github.com/groves/clamp/tree/master -Frank |

So to play around with git and to keep my changes somewhere, I forked clamp -- I've added the checked exception generation. It's here: http://github.com/fwierzbicki/clamp/tree/master -Frank |

I was going to give you push access, but since I'm not going to work on this for a while at least, moving development to your fork is just as good. Score one for dvcs! Charlie |
