Hi Folks, Just a quick note to see if there has been any developments in relation to SQLAlchemy running on jython? I've got a new project, and need to decide if I should use Hibernate, or preferably SQLAlcemy, if it's getting close to stability? All the best, Alan. |

Hey Alan, I did a quick proof of concept a few months back -- but to really get sqlalchemy confidently running on Jython I need to first get 2.4 decorators going. Though sqlalchemy targets 2.3, decorators are used heavily in sqlalchemy's unit tests. In any case I don't think that there is too much chance of a sqlalchemy on Jython 2.2 -- I think there are too many 2.3isms for that to be comfortable. So for a short time frame project I think hibernate is a better bet for now. After I get through with my javacc->antlr work this is a high priority for me though. If my pycon talk gets accepted I will have to get it going quick -- since it is 50% of the talk (BTW hibernate is the other 50%) -Frank |
