Hi, Anyone have any reason I shouldn't drop readline.py from http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1522926&group_id=12867&atid=312867 into Lib on the 2.3 branch? It's a uses java-readline to implement readline from CPython in python . It's a little weird since it depends on having java-readline on the classpath, which depends on having readline around in turn, but if you want to use it you can probably take care of that. I've been using it to get tab completion in the interactive prompt and that's enough for me to desire its inclusion. Thanks, Charlie |

That sounds fine to me. The dependencies sound similar to those of readline in CPython, so developers shouldn't be surprised. -matt Charlie Groves wrote: > Hi, > > Anyone have any reason I shouldn't drop readline.py from > http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1522926&group_id=12867&atid=312867 > into Lib on the 2.3 branch? Any chance we could get Mark Asbach to sign a contributor agreement? If so I'm all for including it. If it is very small we might be able to include it without, but I'd rather err on the side of being obsessively legal. Also, we would want to add his name to the contributors list. -Frank On 7/19/06, Charlie Groves <cha...@gm...> wrote: > Hi, > > Anyone have any reason I shouldn't drop readline.py from > http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1522926&group_id=12867&atid=312867 > into Lib on the 2.3 branch? I've asked him. I'll commit it if he gives the ok.
