X10 is certainly something I'm tracking, especially its support for task parallelism and transactional memory. I would imagine it would be possible to integrate X10 and Jython; the challenge is doing so would be to maintain the deadlock-free guarantees and other capabilities that X10 provides. The other concern is that the principal focus of X10 dev is apparently not on the JVM.
