Can jython import files from inside a jar without running the jython.jar directly?

Looking at these docs, I see I can put python files in the Lib/ directory of the jar file and run "jython -jar myjar.py" assuming I am basing my jar off the standard jython.jar.

However, what if I am making my own interpreter as is done in the Jython/Java integration examples?

I'd like to control the path in my code so when my app is in "debug mode", it pulls from the python source files outside the jar, but when I package the application, the jython files are put in Lib/ and pulled from there.

Am I overcomplicating this and I just need to have the python path include the source directory while debugging and jython will automatically look at the Lib/ directory if nothing is preprended on the path?
