I'm not sure what happened to your email. Did you subscribe to the

I definitely subscribed (I've truncated the message for readability):

Presumably due to my ignorance, I couldn't get Jython to work for me
in terms of calling Python code from Java (we use Pyro for RMI - so
being able to create a Pyro Proxy in Jython and then calling it from
Java would have been awesome).
I haven't used Pyro, so I'm not sure if there are compatibility issues
I'll let you know if I get that far.
So instead, I ended up working on creating a pure Java client. Well,
the first step of the client is to understand how to read pickled
data (which is the protocol that the server uses). SO, I started to
write **a pure Java Unpicker** (protocol 2 only). I haven't finished
it yet (only about 60% complete) and I haven't come across any
impassable technical problems yet.
This is something that we could use in the post-2.2 release. It
sounds like a significant piece of code, so we would want to get you
to sign a contributer agreement before we could pull it in though. If
you think that would be okay, I'll dig up the details.
I'm cool with that. I'll find you today at Pycon so that we can do this.
I originally thought that noone cared, but some of you said you were
interested yesterday so here I am.
We care! Really!
We're soon going to set up public SVN access on our server, but until
then, feel free to get at the code and poke around and make changes
and email me if you would like to contribute.
Also, if Jython would like to use this, thats cool too. I'm new at
this so if you have any suggestions for me technical or otherwise,
please let me know.
Very cool, thanks!
Thanks to all of you. I feel welcome already.
