Nice ! that was the reason !

What i don't care was :
conn.commit return the numeric pointer to the method

and when you set a numeric  value in the code  on one line the python interpreter ignore it
because it is considered as TRUE

Last time I checked, method invocation in Python (and thus jython) as well as
in Java needs parentheses....
