Thank you very much, Jeff and Josu for your answer to my inquery about passing arguments to the Stanford parser.

I tried the following command to use the Stanford Parser, written in Java (http://www-nlp.stanford.edu/software/index.shtml):

parser = LexicalizedParser('C:\sp\englishPCFG.ser.gz')
parser.setOptionFlags(["-Xmx80m"])

But I got an error message that -Xmx80m is an "unknown option". So I got the following reply from the parser user about this problem:

"The -mx100m or -Xmx100m is an option you have to pass to Java (to the Java virtual machine).  It doesn't work to pass it to the parser's setOptionFlags() call.  I'm sure there must be some way to pass options to the Java virtual machine in Jython, but since I don't use it, I don't know what it is."

"The -Xmx option is inserted at runtime, as an argument to the command java.exe."

So I need to figure out how to pass this option directly to Java. Can you or anyone help me with this?

Thank you very much.
