PythonInterpreter (and the JSR-223 implementation) lets you have Java call Jython easily enough.

In Ruby/Groovy/Rhino etc. there is a main()-method in each jar for compiling
source code to the bytecode - that's what I need. It seemed only jythonc can
do this, but manually installing it is no option unfortunately (well, maybe
I have to go down this road if there is no other way).

I just thought having this in maven would enable users to play around with
jython much quicker and easier thus maybe increase interest and usage of it.
After all, Groovy etc. all have such a function one way or the other.
