I got jython 2-1
The problem was that no java was there on my machine
There was an gij implementation of java interpreter
Important fact /usr/bin/java was a symbolic link to /etc/alternatives/java which again was a symbolic link to /usr/lib/jvm/jre-1.4.2-gcj/bin/java which in fact is an GNU implementation of java and is not sun java
Thanks

Hi Raghuram,
Thanks for this much fast reply
I have copied the class file to /jython/class/jython-21.class
Hereis the exact output
I also then unzipped the class file but the installer template were not very clear
I hope you could help me

[root@tb3 class]# cd /jython/class/
[root@tb3 class]# ls
jython-20.class  jython_21.class
[root@tb3 class]# java jython_21 -o jython demo lib source

Can you post the exact command line you used to install and the errors
you got? I typically use something like this to install jython 2.1
$ cd /usr/share
$ java jython-21 -o Jython-2.1 demo lib source
