I'm using Openfire 3.6.0 and the "Jabber HTTP Binding Servlet v1.1.1". At login time, I get the following Java error at OpenFire console:
javax.security.sasl.SaslException: DIGEST-MD5: digest response format violation. Incompatible charset value: utf-8
To fix, find: '",response="'+response+'",charset=utf-8'
replace with: '",response="'+response+'",charset=\"utf-8\"' (meaning, surround utf-8 with scaped ")

Then, tried to login again, the error at OpenFire console became like this:
javax.security.sasl.SaslException: Expecting comma or linear whitespace after quoted string: "utf-8"
To fix, find at the newly replaced string: '",response="'+response+'",charsget=\"utf-8\"'
replacing with: '",response="'+response+'",charset=\"utf-8\",' (meaning adding a comma after " and before ')

The code was tested with FF 3.0.3, IE 6.0.29 and Chrome 0.3.154.9.
