:w and :e should clear the undo buffer, but it doesn't.

it is probably borderline feature request?

    I'm not sure exactly what you mean.

    And what form of :e are you referring to?

    In VIM, you can save :w and immediately load the file with :e again. This doesn't do anything, except the undo buffer is cleared. This is not possible currently in jvi, right?

    I guess you don't use vim's new persistent undo. ;-)

    The undo stuff is handled through the java swing layer. (though with nb7 jVi contributed code to NetBeans to support undo/redo chunking. before nb7 jVi provide a patch to NB to get big chunks)

    I don't know of an API to flush the undo buffer. Change to feature request, maybe there's an API in there somewhere.
