The tools Union-lines, Union 2 polygons, and Larry's cut polygons could have an icon and stay on the Editing toolbox instead on the Tools menu.
Those tools have been improved and made available in the layer view mouse menu.
Having them in the editing toolbox (or in a second editing toolbox dedicated to topology operations) could still be an improvement but I think it now has a lower priority.
Those tools have changed their names and they are no more in the mouse menu. If I interpret right:
Union-lines -> Tools - Edit Geometry - Blend lines
Union 2 polygons -> Tools - Edit Geometry - Merge Two Polygons
Larry's cut polygons -> Tools - Edit Geometry - Split Polygon
These are all nice tools which can be needed frequently for editing. However, I would not put them into the editing tools toolbox. I have too reasons. First one is that the toolbox is already rather crowded and all users will never need these three tools even they are very handy. Another reason is that these three are a bit different that those in the toolbox. The tools in the toolbox behave so that user selects the tools and does something on the map with the tool. The three tools in this request are used to fire some process that is performed for preselected features. Therefore they can be used very well through the EZ Buttons interface either through the mouse menu or even more easily with the function key shortcuts.
I close the feature request as closed-implemented. Peppe can re-open it if necessary.
