Using the Linux version of Deep Sjeng 1.5 under Jose
1.2.2 on a Redhat Linux v 9 box kernel version
2.4-20.8. Sjeng is setup as a UCI engine.

I have set up the engine, with a path setting which is
correct for the executable, the engine runs ok.
However, the engine does not find its own sjeng.rc
file, which sets up EGTB, and personalities.

I have the sjeng directory in the path.

The output under Jose for Sjeng is as follows:

shmop: shmdt returned 0
Removing shared memory
shmget: shmget returned 655363
Allocated 1048576 hash entries in shared memory,
totalling 33554432 bytes.
Master attaching to shared memory
readyok

running sjeng as an executable within the sjeng
directory causes the following output:

Loading Personality: Kramnik.per
shmget: shmget returned 655363
Allocated 1048576 hash entries in shared memory,
totalling 33554432 bytes.
Master attaching to shared memory
shmget: shmget returned 98305
Allocated scoreboard in shared memory, totalling 114660
bytes.
Master attaching to scoreboard

Gian-Carlo Pascutto

Initializing EGTB
0 piece endgame tablebases found
Allocated 0Kb for indices and tables.
Entering Master loop, 1 cpus ready

There are no other sjeng executables stored anywhere else.

Although you can specify a path in the engine setup, it
doesn't seem to be able to find the resource file, any
fix for this?

Thanks

Simon

I don't have tested Sjeng but you could use the "More
Options" field at the bottom of the engine configuration dialog.
The commands in "More Options" will be executed when the
engine starts up, so it's the same effect as a .rc file.

I added the sjeng.rc to the 'ARGS' field in the engine setup
    area. This works fine Peter.

    Thanks.
