I have been reviewing the news on the front page of the JOS Project. I am
very pleased to see all this activity during the year (2000). Aren't you?
I would suggest that "news for 2000" should be converted into a static HTML
page on jos.org. If it were possible, we might reconstuct "news for 1999"
and "news for 1998".
Some of the news is missing. It seems to me that I may have failed to
announce the introduction of the JOS Technical Edition 1h. I forgot to
write that e-mail message. It does not appear in the old mailing list. It
does not appear on the front page. The latest version of the JOS Technical
Edition is 1h. It is too late to announce it now. In a few weeks, I will be
starting the process to create version 1i.
The process starts with a close look at the JOS Wiki during the last
quarter (last three months). New articles are identified. A new
distribution of StaticWiki is released. StaticWiki is a quarterly snapshot
of JOS Wiki.
The introduction of SourceForge has changed the rules. It is less likely
for a member of the JOS Project to lose their contribution. As you may
know, uploading source code to Source Server turned out to be a bad idea.
That was a time long before SourceForge enabled us to use their CVS service.
