> Looks like I need to make another release already :-) Releasing 3.0 was fine so that people see that there's work going on, and joe is not hopeless. Most important features of UTF-8 are working great. IMHO releasing too often (every week, after every two or three bugfixes) is not a really good idea, people will get bored with constantly upgrading... I'd recommend consulting with the freedesktop guys, asking them to test CVS version when believe it's okay, wait until they confirm it (now joe is mentioned along with vi and emacs on the BMP-only UTF-8 page on freedesktop.org -- would be nice if joe 3.1 could be removed from there). So this time I suggest thorough stress-testing before releasing a new version (which could happen in a month or so, but let's wait a little bit more than just a week so that we get feedback from people and more bugs are fixed...) just my 2 cents... -- Egmont |
