I use self-compiled versions of joe on my Fedora Code 6 Linux
I have been encountering this problem with quite q few versions of joe
now, both on FC6 as well as on the previous FC5:
In _any_ kind of terminal window (gnome-terminal, xterm, rxvt, urxvt),
my page-up key does not have the desired behaviour. Page-down does work
though. Very annoying!
I do have patched joerc files (for extra key bindings), but if
I bring back the originals, it still doesn't work. (~/.joerc removed,
/etc/joe/joerc taken from an unpatched build.)
Other curses-based (and non-curses-based) applications work fine in my
Page-up and page-down send these sequences in gnome-terminal:
Here's what's defined in all joerc's I could find:
pgup .kP Screen up
pgup ^[ [ 5 ~
pgup ^# T
pgup ^[ [ I SCO
What's more annoying: On all my work Linux systems, joe's page-up works
fine in all terminals. (They're in VNC, but that's not the cause.) Same
source code, same patches.
Do you have any hint what I need to do? How can I debug?

d'uh! That's what happens when you finally get around to testing and
checking just about _everything_:
I had a foul patch crop into my build. (I think it was from an old RPM
package from RedHat or Fedora.) This was causing the breakage of this
I think I'm back to normal now, but still don't know how I should've
Sorry for disturbing!
