i use jpico and would like to know how to display the long lines on the
screen without wordwrap, like vi and emacs does by default.

In ~/.jpicorc find these 2 lines:
and remove the "-wordwrap". This will disable wordwrap for all files.
You may enable wordwrap for some files that need this, like this:

Oh, yes of course, but if i tell joe not to use wordwrap the too long lines
aren't displayed -into- the screen.
