Using ctrl-s locks up the terminal, which can be disabled with ctrl-q. It's quite annoying, especially for people unfamiliar with this behavior. It can be disabled by removing the ISIG flag in the termios structure, I think it was disabled in older joe versions as I never ran into the problem prior.

    Make sure "-noxon" is set in joerc (this option is disabled by default). Alternatively, "stty -ixon".

    (Yes I know this bug is 4+ years old.)
